Project description

The Zvonařka Central Bus Station in Brno is a notable project that showcases modern architecture, with Rigips dry interior construction systems playing a critical role. The design includes a striking stepped ceiling in the entrance hall. The Central Bus Station underwent significant renovation, including the construction of a new check-in hall. The platforms were redesigned and small vendor stalls in the northern part of the station were removed and replaced with a modern check-in hall. The Exchange office is located in the hall and the exterior is secured by perimeter safety anti-burglar partitions that meet the RC3 safety category according to the EN 1627 standard.

Key Challenges

The construction process took only 7 months, and included the use of organic shapes and the preparation of moulds. The final smooth surface of the plaster areas was combined with LED lights and a staggered ceiling, and the partition met the RC3 standards according to EN 1627

Key Achievements

The project was aided by the good technical support of the Rigips team, as well as a learning course on drylining for curved surfaces at the Rigips School of Drylining. The specification for a classic brick wall was changed to RigiStabil, while still maintaining the same security level of RC3. The use of drywall systems had a crucial impact on the speed of the building process.
