Biography: Waldemar Celiński-Mysław, associated with the construction industry since 1997. Always interested in the construction industry. Graduated from a construction school. His greatest professional achievement was the execution of the conference and leisure complex Cukrownia Żnin in Żnin, but the greatest challenge was the construction work related to the reconstruction of the Palace in Łochów. The contractor likes his job because this is his passion and driving force for the action. Antoni Gaudi the creator of the Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona is the greatest authority for Waldemar. In the future he will hand over the running of the company to his son, and will do what he like the most hunting and travelling.

Key Challenges

The most important design objectives was to leave the building’s architecture possibly least modified and to preserve the existing structure, reinforcing it locally. In addition, making use of the factory’s original elements in newly designed small architecture buildings (for example, the old sugar factory roof structure was used to support newly designed connectors).
Ensuring EI30 level of fire resistance.
Ensuring acoustic comfort compliant with demanding requirements for hotel facilities.
Designing and constructing hotel rooms on the top floor on a self-supporting structure, based on Rigips unit solutions, as well as on 3.40.06 AKU system and Rigips UA sections (Rigips self-supporting room unit – the cubicle).

Key Achievements

Preparation and implementation of the unit solution – the top floor walls and sides were constructed based on Rigips systems. The cubicles were built using UA sections and Rigips Pro Aku and Rigips Pro Fire+ panels.
The choice of Rigips products followed the Contractor’s and Investor’s experience with Saint-Gobain (at least 10 hotel projects completed, very good service provided by the Advisor, repeatable quality of Rigips products and systems).
Preparation of the technical blueprint of the individual solution and the entire lightweight construction reduced the Investor’s costs and allowed for faster implementation of the project (elimination of classical methods of reinforcing the structure of the building).
Awards won by Żnin Sugar Factory:

• Modernizacja Roku 2020 (Modernization of the Year 2020) in the category “Revitalization of Urban Areas and Spaces”, organized by the Polish Association for the Protection of National Material Heritage,
• Debiut Roku 2020 (Debut of the Year 2020) from the e-hotelarz website,
• SARP Award of the Year in the category “Architecture in Heritage Space” – as Modernizacja Roku 2021 (Modernization of the Year 2021),
• European Property Awards 2021 in the category “Commercial Renovation/Redevelopment”,
• Property Design Awards 2022 in readers’ poll in the categories “Body – Hotel” and “Design – Hotel Interior”
