Biography: George Jackson began trading in 1780, introducing fibrous plaster to the UK. Today we still offer market-leading design, manufacture and installation of specialist plasterwork. Whilst we have a rich heritage, we are a forward looking team that ensures health and safety is a priority and that deadlines and budgets are met.
Our collection of reverse cut hardwood moulds is one of the largest in the world, used by architects and interior designers as a source of inspiration when developing their schemes.
Time was of the essence; the client had a tight timescale in which to complete the works due to the grand opening of this 5-star hotel.
Challenges of working in tight spaces especially corridors, however, therefore GRG is a good solution as most of the work is done in our workshop and installation time on site can be reduced.
Technical challenges were the use of correct materials in the right locations (to ensure that the solutions were sympathetic to the building’s heritage).
Very few companies have the ability to carry out heritage and modern work on such a large scale, therefore, we were perfectly placed to carry out this work. It involved tight communication between us and our client the dry-liner to ensure the work was completed on time. It also need to be of the highest quality for a 5 star hotel which we were able to achieve.
A quote from an industry expert about the project “The final installation is of the highest quality.”
Around 50% of the decorative features had to be replaced, but the replacements, together with a myriad of handcrafted alterations on site, integrate seamlessly into what is a truly spectacular final result.
